Tudor House, Margate

The Tudor House is a 1525 Gentleman Farmers property and was situated beside the river which ran along what is now King Street, it is one of the earliest local examples of a new style of building with a first floor, a change from the pervious Barn type construction. on the ground floor one of the rooms boasts a plaster Jacobean style ceiling and frieze.

The gardens are well maintained and during the summer months can be laid out with garden games for younger visitors to play. On the first floor there are costumes which visitors can try on and be photographed in.
The building is 85% original and from time to time exhibitions of interest are mounted in the building and a photo quiz can be undertaken.
