Dover Museum

Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery is home to a large collection of historical artefacts relating to the local area, including the world's oldest known seagoing boat discovered nearby in 1992. There are three permanent exhibits – Archaeology Gallery, Dover History Gallery and the Bronze Age Boat Gallery – and one temporary exhibition gallery which changes yearly. We also have changing exhibitions in our front and rear stairwells.

Children visiting the museum particularly love our famous polar bear known as 'Fred' and the hands-on laboratory area of the boat gallery

We also host family activity days offering arts and crafts on a range of topics.
