Faversham Charters and Magna Carta
Faversham has one of the largest collections of Town Charters in England. Come and see some of them in our dedicated exhibition, found within the Visitor Information Centre. Pride of place is given to our 1300 AD Magna Carta, which is actually ‘addressed’ to Barons of the town, but you can also admire the town’s oldest seal and the ‘Common Horn’…could it really be over 1000 years old?
Near the Exhibition area we have our dedicated ‘Kids Cabinet’ where all sorts of activities await you. Perhaps you will dress up as a medieval commoner or nobleman? Or why not try one of our quizzes or activity sheets?
