MEDWAY QUEEN, built for pleasure cruises, played a vital role in British defence as a minesweeper in WW2 and the rescue of thousands of allied troops from the Dunkirk beaches in 1940.

Royal Engineers Museum, tells the story of the Corps of Royal Engineers and how they have helped the British Army live, move and fight for over 300 years.

Fort Amherst, with over 300 years of fascinating history to explore, especially through the network of underground tunnels! Children can see and experience how the Fort was used as an Air Raid Precautions station during the Second World War and understand how soldiers lived and worked here during the Napoleonic era.

Fort Luton, a Victorian Fort built in 1876 to help defend Chatham Dockyard from a land attack. It was involved in the 1907 Chatham Siege Trials, and saw vital roles in both WW1 as an anti-aircraft battery and an embarkment centre for troops on their way to France, and in WW2 the Fort used converted to a secret Gun Operation Centre for the control of Anti-Aircraft guns in the area.
