Continuing our visit to the Isle of Sheppey, the Wheels of Time sites on the East of the island are:
- Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum stands on the hilltop at Minster. The Sheppey Timeline, shows the chequered history of the island and leads up the 12th century stairway to the roof, from which the visitor can see magnificent views. The museum houses medieval fireplaces, a collection of fossils, pilgrim crosses, local archaeology, maritime history, paintings, costumes, and many more items of interest.
- Eastchurch Aviation Museum records the aviation history of Sheppey from the very earliest days of pioneer flying in the UK: the first aviation factory at Muswell Manor, the Short Brothers manufactory at Eastchurch and the service history of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC), Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) and the Aero Club of Great Britain AeCGB.
